Trader Joe’s Holiday Appetizers

 

It’s party time and Trader Joe’s has some great products to help you whip up a healthy appetizer for gatherings with friends and family this season.  This list of Trader Joe’s Holiday Appetizers can help you get in and get out of the store quickly and on to your next event. I have included healthy and healthy-ish products that are complete and ready to serve as well as some that you can put together quickly with other products.

Refrigerator Section

 

Sushi Sensational: 3 pieces

140 calories, 3.5 g fat, 530 mg sodium, 22 g carbohydrate, 0 g fiber, 4 g protein

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Shrimp Spring Rolls: (1 serving/pkg with all of dip) 330 calories, 13g fat, 330 mg sodium,

10g protein) (If serving 4 slices: 82.5 calories, 3.25g fat, 82.5 mg sodium, 2.5g protein)

 

Assortment of hummus’ -i.e. Roasted Garlic Hummus Dip 2 tbls have 70 calories, 4.5 gm fat,

150 mg sodium-serve with raw vegetables or pita bread

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tsatziki: 2 tbsp: 30 calories, 2 g fat, and 65 mg sodium-serve the same as hummus; serve with baked falafel balls

 

Brushchetta Sauce (serves 14: each serving: 14 calories, 2.5 gm fat and 105 mg sodium-

Serve on toasted sliced baguettes or polenta. Also in non-refrigerated bottles.

 

Laughing Cow Light Garlic and Herb Cheese: 2 Tbsp: 35 calories, 2g fat, 260 mg sodium, 2.5g protein, Use like cream cheese

 

Trader Joe’s Light Feta Cheese:1.5 g fat/oz

1 oz: 40 calories, 1.5 g fat, 370 mg sodium, 1 g carbohydrate, 0 g fiber, 5 g protein

 

Trader Joe’s Light Whipped cream cheese: 70 calories and 4.5 g fat/serving

2 Tbsp: 70 calories, 5 g fat, 95 mg sodium, 3 g carbohydrate, 0 g fiber, 4 g protein

 

Smoked Salmon -use in dips or on top of cream cheese with a garnish of fresh dill

Per 1 oz: 33 calories, 1.2 g fat, 222 mg sodium, 0 g carbohydrate, 0 g fiber, 5.2 g protein

 

Sliced turkey- place cranberry relish or cranberry mustard inside and roll up, hold with a toothpick

 

TJ’s Low Fat Ranch Dressing- (mix with yogurt or Greek yogurt as a dip for raw vegetables)

 

 

 

 

 

 

Chevre cheese  (top with Trader Joe’s Mango Ginger chutney and place on low fat crackers)

1 oz: 76 calories, 6 g fat, 104 mg sodium, 0 g carbohydrate, 0 g fiber, 5.3 g protein

 

Snap peas and other vegetables with TJ’s Asian peanut spicy vinaigrette dressing mixed with a little

peanut butter: 10 peas without sauce: 14 calories, 0.1 g fat, 1 mg sodium, 2.6 g carbohydrate, 0.9 g fiber, 1 g protein

 

Seasonal:

Cranberry Orange Relish – mix with cream cheese or use in dips

 

Cranberry Chevre

1 oz: 80 calories, 6 g fat, 125 mg sodium, 3 g carbohydrate, 0 g fiber, 4 g protein

 

Frozen Section

Spanakopita filled with spinach, ricotta, and feta     

For 3: 160 calories, 8 gm fat, 420 mg sodium, 16 g carbohydrate, 1 g fiber, 6 g protein

 

Edamame soy beans – boil and serve with soy sauce or vegetable dip

½ cup: 120 calories, 5 g fat, 10 mg sodium, 8 g carbohydrate, 5 g fiber, 10 g protein

 

Chicken Gyoza Potstickers – microwave and serve with sauce (Soy, Teriyaki, Asian Peanut vinaigrette)

2 potstickers: 52 calories, 0.5 g fat, 125 mg sodium, 8.5 g carbohydrate, 1.25 g fiber, 2 g protein

 

Shrimp and Cocktail Sauce (bought separately)
